How You Can Create a Rainbow - Art Lesson

Now that you know that different parts of the sun's energy makes us see a rainbow, you can arrange your colors the same way to create an Art Rainbow.

The order is simple:
red
       orange
                    yellow
                                green
                                           blue
                                                     violet
PLUS, it can go in a circle
and when it does, it repeats and repeats and repeats!!

Here's how to do it.  Gather up your colors

and then, put them in the correct order . . . . .like this.

Now take the colors, one at a time, and draw with them, keeping them in order........

Grandma Rainbow has art made with markers!

This one was made with crayons!

This rainbow was painted for Grandma
and it is a "Main Rainbow" because the
child was learning about rainbow order and this was her first painting using color this way . . . it is frame-able. When you learn the "rainbow", choose one of your best and have someone help you frame it as your very own "Main Rainbow".
Have mom or dad or grandma or grandpa or the person who loves and takes care of you to send me a .jpeg of your rainbow picture - they will know what that is.  They can send it to grandmarainbow@gmail.com.

Let’s Emancipate (Free) the Rainbow

Rainbows are colors and nature and beauty.  Rainbows are colors reflected by nature and the beauty of that.

As we learned from science, the rainbow is the reflection of the sun’s light off of rain-drops.  However, the rainbow has also become a very well known symbol for other things!

What is a symbol?  A symbol is simply a sign that means or “stands for” something else!  A symbol can be a simple way to say things that are not so simple.  Sometimes, the meaning that is popular takes on a whole new life; life that has nothing to do with the original symbol. The rainbow has come to be known for other things than just the simple beauty of nature.

HOWEVER, rainbows really are colors reflected by nature and the beauty of that.  That is important to remember and together we can free the rainbow for all of us, for everyone ………not just for some.

So, if you love colors and nature and beauty……don’t give up on rainbows, or they will lose their “wonderfulness”.  Rainbows symbolize color and nature and beauty…… they even can teach us a lot about science.   Science is good……….so are rainbows!
